Than he comes to Argos where his uncle Electryon governs. Amphitryon is rich and well-known war leader, he goes to merry Electryon’s daughter Alcmene. All in his life is good.

But Electryon’s sons die in the battle against sons of pirate leader Pterelaus. Electryon takes the oath from Amphitryon: he’ll revenge for the Electryon’s sons death, he’ll kill Pterelaus. So, Amphitryon becomes an exile, he leaves Argos with Triton, Alcmene and his little nephew, Electryon’s bastard.

Finally Amphitryon comes to Thebes. The ruler of Thebes agrees to purify Amphitryon if he’ll kill a monstrous Teumessian Fox, the creature of Dionysus and the curse of Thebes. Amphitryon kills Teumessian Fox with the help of his father Alceus, his old friend Cephalus and Cephalus’s magic dog. The ruler of Thebes purifies him from murder’s pollution, and Amphitryon becomes a new war leader of Thebes army.

Amphitryon musters a large army to fight against Pterelaus and his pirates. Some battles happened. In one battle Pterelaus kills Amphitryon’s friend Triton. After all Amphitryon meets Pterelaus face-to-face and kills him after hard fighting. Pterelaus’s daughter steals father’s artifact of invulnerability before the final duel.
